Le Boring Stuff:
Membership Info:
Our meetings are open and do not require membership to attend. Members
receive a membership card that allows them to check out anime and manga
from the club's library, and qualifies them for food or prizes bought with
club funds. Additionally, membership cards can be shown at several local
business for discounts! Members of Anime Kurabu are also members of our
parent organization, Mu Epsilon Kappa (MEK), a national association
of anime clubs with 15 chapters. MEK will also send honor cords to
graduating members, and may offer other benefits in the future. Member-
ship is open to UTSA students, faculty, and staff. Dues are $10 per
semester, meaning if you bought membership in the fall, you have to pay
again for the spring semester. Dues can be paid at any of our meetings.
Showings:
We will watch Japanese animation, in Japanese audio with English subtitle,
although this may not always be the case. We have several different
showings per meeting, which are:
Officers' Choice - a series chosen by the officers. Will be announced at
the first meeting.
Member's Choice - A series chosen and voting on by the members. To be
decided at the first meeting.
Random Showing(s) - One or more episodes of one or more series, shown
just for one meeting. Something different every time.
Activities:
besides watching anime, we also try to have other activities each
meeting. Examples include guest speakers, discussions, giveaways, and
games such as Anime Name that Tune and Anime Jeopardy. Additionally, we
have events such as potluck socials and Venture Eating ( a group outing
where we try out a restaurant, typically Asian).
Advanced placement into a school of higher grade proof-reading is determined by the results of the Promotion Test strictly for class type. Ranging from A class with the best facilities anyone can offer all the way down to F Class which is composed of low dining tables, rotten tatami mats and other worn out facilities. Students can change classes by competing using the Examination Summons Battle system or ESB. Students summon characters with their equivalent test mark scores and use them to compete with other classes..

Coming soon...
The FIRST ANIME KURABU meeting of the Spring 2012 semester. *Cue Fanfare (not the Final Fantasy kind)*
REMEMBER THE DATE: [TBA] Don't just glace it over. MARK IT DOWN! Put it on the calendar, in your smart phone, in your friend's smart phone, on your arm, on your friend's arm, on your friend's other arm. Do whatever it takes to remember this date. Just to make your you remember it, I'm going to spam it. Maybe.
For our first meeting we will have the introduction of the officers, some time to get to know each other, an activity of sorts, voting for both the Member's
and the Officer's choice anime. We may have prizes to give away. Don't qoute me on that last part though.
Also, we will be down in the UC by the bookstore on the 25th and 26th of this month for the involvement fair. Feel free to stop by.
