Anime Kurabu Summer Update

Hey everyone! Anime Kurabu will be having meetings again this summer! Come hang out with us and watch some great anime every Saturday from 6PM to 9PM, starting June 7th. No dues are charged for summer meetings. A-kon is just 19 days away! For those who don't know, A-kon is an anime convention May 30th - June 1st in Dallas, TX. Let us know in our forums if you're going, so we can arrange a meetup at the con. This is also a great chance to put together carpools, to help with the rising gas prices. http://www.animekurabu.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=363 Fun in the sun?! Anime Kurabu is hitting the beach this summer! On Saturday, July 19th to July 20th, we're going to Mustang Island State Park, just a few miles from Corpus Christi, TX. $25 per person includes transportation, camping fee, meals, snacks, drinks, and more. Space is limited to 8 people, going first to club members. Camping gear is free for UTSA students to check out. If not enrolled, the attendee will need to bring their own sleeping bag and other equipment. More details to come, sign up at our first summer meeting! Have a great summer! It's that time of the semester again, but we're going to have some fun before finals! Come our our last meeting for anime, food, and stuff! Beginning this Friday at 2PM in HSS 2.02.04 At 5, we'll break to eat (Food provided for due-paying members), then head to Joe Momma's Coffee House (15503 Babcock, just on the other side of the highway from UTSA). Meet in front of the Convocation Center for carpooling. See you there!

Hey Everyone! This Friday is our Pre-Fiesta extended meeting! This year, we're having a pot-luck dinner, so please bring some sort of food or drink to share if you plan to eat. Suggested items to bring are chips and salsa, canned sodas, salads, casseroles, and other party foods. During our meeting, between anime showings, we will be working on Fiesta UTSA booth decorations; everyone will be expected to help in some way. A free raffle will be held at the end for some great items, so stick around! Next week we will have our semesterly venture eating after our normal meeting, at Viet Nam Restaurant at 3244 Broadway. We'll be carpooling at 5:30PM. See you there! Hello everyone,This week is our special outing. this time were going to Incredible pizza located at 11743 West Avenue San Antonio TX 78216 Phone: (210) 342-2121. Its a pizza buffet with games, go-karts and other fun stuff. we are asking averbody to bring between $15 - $20 for the pizza and some spending money afterwards. everyone will meet at the UC dancing statues at 6. we will leave from incredible pizza at 10 so if your planning to leave earlier or later please arrange your own transportation. Also don't forget to vote for our club shirt on the website this week. Hope to see all of you there.

Hey everyone, For those who haven't heard, we're having a Late Meeting on the 2nd and 4th Fridays every month. If you can't make it to our normal meetings, please come this Friday! They're held at Joe Momma's Coffee House (http://www.joemommas.biz) from 7PM to 10PM. These meetings are open to everyone, so please bring friends! We'll be watching something different each meeting! Our general meeting will be this Friday from 2PM to 5PM in the usual location, HSS 2.02.04. We'll be playing a fun game, with a nice prize. Only due-paying members are allowed to participate in these games! So bring your $5 if you haven't paid. ;) Coming up next week (Friday, February 29th) is our first extended meeting of the semester! A-kon group discount info

We're now accepting checks /money orders for the A-kon (http://www.a-kon.com/) group discount rate. Normal ticket prices are $40, or $50 at the door. With this discount, you can get your ticket for only $34! If you're interested, please bring us a check/money order for $34 made out to "Phoenix Entertainment/A-Kon 19" at any general meeting. Deadline to turn it in is mid-march. Should we not reach the required 10 people to qualify for the discount, your check/money order will be returned to you. Non-club members are eligible as well, so tell your friends! [Note: Anime Kurabu is not officially organizing an A-kon trip, and will not be officially offering transportation/hotel rooms. We will, however, assist in finding carpools and boarding closer to March. Please post in our forums if you plan to drive, or have a hotel room you'd like to share. Thank you.]

Hey everyone! Just a few updates: Our T-Shirt design contest has begun! If you wish to enter, bring your design to one of our weekly meetings. The winner gets a free T-shirt, and their dues will be paid for the Fall 2008 semester! Contest Rules: • Any characters must be original, nothing copyrighted. • Must have the name Anime Kurabu incorporated into the design. • If done on a computer, design must be 9" x 9", at a minimum of 200dpi. Please submit your design on CD, or via flash-drive. • Designing a back-side is optional- but the front side must stand on its own, and only the front side will be judged. • All submissions will become property of Anime Kurabu. • Deadline for submissions is Friday, March 14th. New Meetings! In addition to our weekly meeting, we will have late meetings twice a month. These meetings will be every 2nd and 4th Friday, from 7PM to 10PM at Joe Momma's Coffee House (http://www.joemommas.biz/), next to the L&M Bookstore. Viewings at these meetings will be different than our weekly meetings. Rather than viewing a few whole series over the course of the semester, these meetings will focus on showing only a few episodes of many different shows, changing each meeting. These meetings are open to everyone, and we encourage members to bring guests. For those who missed it, here's a few announcements: • To make our meetings more enjoyable for everyone, please review the Anime Kurabu Rules, under navigation on the left side of this page. • Membership dues are $5 per semester, payable at our meetings. Membership benefits include: - A membership card - Access to our Anime and Manga lending library (Opening next Friday, more details to follow.) - A 10% discount on anime-related goods and manga at Dragon's Lair comics - A 40% discount at ADV's online store - Qualify you to win bigger prizes in our games & contests - Free food, on certain occasions - Allows you to participate in our special events. - As a due-paying member, you also become a member of our parent organization, Mu Epsilon Kappa (MEK). Venture Eating and Laser Quest (11.16.07) Pictures are Up!

Just as the title states, I upload the images that I took during our Venture Eating (which was Fortune Cookie), Laser Quest, and Apples to Apples games that we had on November 16, 2007. I hope that everyone who came with us had a good time. I look forward to the last meeting with everyone, which will be 11.30.07. More details about that meeting will be discussed later. But look forward to my flashing camera a lot more! LOL For those who couldn't join us, look over the images and laugh at the total randomness that makes Anime Kurabu so wonderful. Venture Eating & Laser Quest!

Hey everyone! This Friday is our Venture Eating and Laser Quest outing! We'll be ending our usual meeting at 4:30PM, then we'll gather for carpooling and eat at Fortune Cookie chinese restaurant. After we fill up, we'll head over to Laser Quest! Everyone must be at Laser Quest by 7:30 to register. Our first game will start at 8PM, we'll have a second game at 8:40, and afterward we have a private party room reserved to play games and watch Anime. Please bring about $15. $10~ for the buffet, then $5 for laser quest for due-paying members. Friends or non-paying members will need to pay the full price of $13 for Laser Quest. Zero Day Anime
